Hot Chocolate

The children have been learning about the Procedural writing genre. Procedural writing is a specific form of writing that provides instructions on the procedure necessary to accomplish a goal. As Togher N.S. has a “hands on – minds on” philosophy the children had to explore the procedure involved in making and enjoying a lovely cup of Hot Chocolate – honestly!

Water Bottle Rocket

The children always have a wonderful time when Chuck Delpier (Mr. D.) brings his science workshop to Togher N.S. They learned all about air pressure during a series of workshop experiments. In the afternoon the children went outside to launch some air pressure powered water bottle rockets.

We Love Christmas

The children in the Junior Room were delighted to welcome Stephanie from Heritage in Schools to help them to make Christmas Wreaths using natural materials. A massive thank you to all those that provided the materials to create these beautiful Christmas Wreaths.

Christmas Wreaths

It’s certainly beginning to feel a lot like Christmas here at Togher N.S. This week the children in the Senior Room made beautiful Christmas Wreaths with Stephanie from Heritage in Schools. A massive Thank You to all those that provided the willow and greenery required. The children made beautiful Christmas Wreaths.

Christmas Cakes

It is an old tradition for 5th and 6th classes to make a Christmas cake. We kept the tradition againĀ this year, using the usual recipe and using no electric mixers ! Just some good old elbow grease.
The children mixed the ingredients perfectly using a wooden spoon, while chatting happily and listening to Christmas songs. The cakes all turned out brilliantly in the end.
