We had a visit from photographer Michael O’Sullivan to take photographs of the children and their 3D printed designs. These photographs were used as part of the publicity for The 3D Printing Design Challenge that was awarded to Togher N.S. Michael took some really wonderful photographs.
The children in the Junior Room had great fun playing Capture the Flag on the Sports Field.
Baking with Karen is always popular here at Togher N.S. The children enjoyed making and of course eating beautiful baked treats this week.
The local FAI five a side football competition will be held on March the 7th in Bantry. The reasonably good weather has allowed us to get down to the Sports Pitch to practice our football skills.
The children in first and second class have been busy learning about Computer Aided Design (CAD) and 3D printing.
“Love is all you need” has been the theme here at Togher N.S. this week. The children in the Junior Room were very busy creating beautiful St. Valentine’s Day Gifts.
Just some of the lovely work produced for St Valentines Day. We also made beautiful heart shaped clay candle holders.
Congratulations to Grace on winning the Young Handler of the Year from the Irish Belgian Blue Cattle Society. This is a wonderful achievement. Maith thú Grace.
We are delighted to announce that Togher N.S. has won the Best Design Category in a nationwide 3D Printing Sustainability Challenge. The judging panel was from I-Form based in U.C.D. and Stryker. The school has won a €1000 voucher and children will be presented with individual vouchers in the near future. Our entry will now go forward to represent Ireland in the European Showcase. 3D Printing and CAD have been a wonderful addition to the school and has allowed Togher N.S. to further extend the technical and artistic skills that our pupils will need in the future.
