Autumn Artwork

Trees provide a beautiful and rich glow of colour every autumn. All the warm reds, golds and russets that bring joy as summer ends and the leaves begin to fall. The children were inspired by nature’s explosion of colour to create their own Autumn Artwork.

Pastel Artwork

The children in the Junior Room have been busy creating pastel artworks. Pastels are really fun for children to explore! Drawing with pastels on black paper makes the pastels look extra bright, almost like they are glowing!

Clay Hedgehogs

The children in the Junior Room have been learning about autumn. Some Irish animals, including the hedgehog, are getting ready for their winter hibernation. The children in the junior room enjoyed making these lovely clay hedgehogs.

International Dot Day

We like to make an International Dot Day video every year but unfortunately this hasn’t been possible for the last few years. The current 6th class did feature in the last video we made – mind you they look a bit younger!

International Dot Day

Thursday the 15th of September was International Dot Day. The inspiration behind International Dot Day is the children’s book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds which encourages students to celebrate creativity, courage, and collaboration. In the build up to Dot Day the children in Togher N.S. engage in many artistic activities – dedicated to getting the children to fearlessly make their mark on the world!

Pencil Drawing

Every great artist develops their skill and passion somewhere. Learning how to draw and sketch is also a great foundation for children to learn the elements of design. At Togher N.S. the children really enjoy developing their drawing skills.
