We were delighted to welcome The Great Gusto to Togher N.S. to teach the children juggling and other circus tricks. To demonstrate his gymnastic and juggling skills he required a couple of hapless “volunteers”. I don’t think the children and the other members of staff have ever laughed so much.
We said farewell to our current sixth class at our Graduation Celebration this week. We wish them the very best of luck in Secondary school and we know they will all do well. They will be truly missed here but they will always be welcome back at Togher N.S. We had a wonderful night looking back at their time in Togher N.S. and listening to their memories of primary school. The graduation night also featured Medal Presentations, Graduation Gifts, Slideshows, Fís Films and wonderful treats and cakes (A huge thank you to the parents that brought these tasty treats). Thanks to everyone that facilitated this wonderful night.
The children had a fantastic day at the Cork Primary Schools Sports. Well done to all of our young athletes.
The children created some beautiful prize-winning artworks for the Cork Bike Week competition.
We have been busy in the sports field getting ready for the Cork City Sports. The children have been practicing their sprinting and relay running skills.
We have had a very productive year so far – a winning 3D Printing National Competition project, another National Science Award, a hugely enjoyable Sciath na Scol GAA football campaign and a beautiful First Holy Communion Sacrament. The children enjoyed pizza and cream cake to celebrate our efforts and achievements.
We enjoyed another wonderful day of GAA football at Doheny’s GAA grounds in Dunmanway. Togher N.S. played Leap N.S. and Dreeny N.S. It was another lovely day for football. A huge thank you to the many supporters that came to cheer on the team.
The children and wider school community had a great time on our Sponsored Walk this week. The weather was beautiful and we saw lots of nature along the way. Many thanks to our wonderful Parents Association for organising this lovely event.
The Sciath na Scol GAA competition is coming up soon. The weather has finally improved so it was straight down to the Sports Field to get some practice in. There’s nothing like playing on the full pitch to develop movement and positioning skills.
We had an early visit from The Easter Bunny at Togher N.S. The children were delighted to search for the little treats he left for them in the school-yard.
