It was a beautiful afternoon so we decided to move outside for our art class. The children were asked to draw a still life using a pencil and concentrating on light and shade. A still life is a drawing or painting that focuses on still objects. The subject matter is inanimate and never moves, typically with a focus on household objects, flowers, or fruits. Still life drawing is a great way to practice creating shapes and building three-dimensional forms through shading techniques.
