The Sam Maguire Cup, the cup awarded to winners of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, visited Togher N.S. this week. Rev. Cliff Jeffers of St. Mary’s Church of Ireland, Dunmanway, (where Sam Maguire is buried) brought the cup to the school. Rev. Jeffers told the children all about the life of Sam Maguire and the history of the cup. He also answered many interesting questions from the children.
