Maths Week

Pupils from 2nd – 6th have received their unique passwords to log into www.mangahigh.com

On Saturday at 00:00, a brand new competition leaderboard will appear on your Mangahigh account, and the aim of the game is to score the most points by playing as many activities as possible.  Students earn points towards your school’s total by completing any activity on Mangahigh.  This can  assigned tasks set by Ms O Connell, recommendations from our virtual tutor or activities they have selected to do independently.

How do the points work?

Earning a bronze medal is worth 1 point, a silver is worth 2 and a gold medal is worth 3 points towards your school’s score.

Students can only earn one medal per activity, so if a student has completed an activity and earned a bronze medal, and then replays that same activity to bronze medal standard again, they will not earn any extra points.  However if they replay the activity and upgrade their medal from bronze to gold, they will earn 2 points towards your school’s total.  Once a student has earned a gold medal on an activity, there are no more points to be earned by replaying it, it’s time to move on to something new.  These same rules apply for activities attempted before the competition period.

Medals!

Every student has the chance to win a REAL Mangahigh medal.  The aim is to score 150 new medal points during the competition. To keep track of progress, check the Profile page and look for the competition progress bar – it will  show  how close you are to winning.
