Art Project

Senior classes will be  participating in exciting new visual arts project as part of the 1916 Centenary Commemorations. This project aims to produce an exhibition of artwork that shows the history of Ireland over the past 100 years and the history of art over the past 100 years through the eyes of West Cork school children.

This is an ambitious and exciting project that should fulfil a number of cross curricular objectives, including encouraging children to engage with their history, widening knowledge of art history for both teachers and children, and supporting teachers in new visual arts ideas and skills for the classroom.

The artworks produced as part of the project will feature in an exhibition at Uillinn, West Cork Arts Centre in 2016, and be included in a large commemorative poster.
